The United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) has extended a road closure on Front Road East (County Road 4) between Golf Road and Gourley Road in East Hawkesbury while construction crews complete rehabilitation work on the Dan Kirby Bridge. Originally, the closure was to end on July 13, but it has been extended to July 22.
Meanwhile, road paving work on Front Road East from Tupper Street in Hawkesbury to Chute-à-Blondeau also began on Monday, July 13. The project is partly funded by the Province of Ontario.
And the seemingly endless row of pylons appeared on Highway 34 between Hawkesbury and Highway 417 during the past week to prepare for rehabilitation and paving work that was to begin on Monday, July 13. The entire highway, except for within the town limits of Vankleek Hill, will be affected. The work on Highway 34 is expected to continue until October 2.
