The seven members of Alfred and Plantagenet Township Council were paid a combined amount of $207,096 by taxpayers in 2021.  

Mayor Stéphane Sarrazin’s total remuneration from the township in 2021 was $53,987. That amount includes a base salary of $48,506 and $4,810 for meetings. In 2021, Sarrazin was also paid $610.56 by the township for costs associated with attending the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference and $61.06 for expenses related to the Congrès de l’Union des cultivateurs franco-ontariens.  

All Alfred and Plantagenet councillors were paid a base remuneration of $20,288 in 2021. However, the total remuneration for each councillor varies depending on what each of them was paid for meeting attendance. Councillor René Beaulne was paid $5,674 for meeting attendance which resulted in a total remuneration of $25,962 in 2021. Councillor Chantal Galipeau’s total 2021 remuneration was $26,112 because of $5,824 for meeting attendance.  

In 2021, Councillor Suzanne Lafrance was paid $4,490 for meeting attendance, resulting in a total remuneration of $24,778. Out of the $25,198 Councillor Yves Laviolette was paid by the township in 2021, $4,910 was for meeting attendance. Councillor Antoni Viau received $4,860 for meeting attendance which resulted in a total remuneration of $25,148 in 2021. In 2021, Councillor Ian Walker was paid a total of $25,912, and $5,624 of that amount was for meeting attendance.
