The Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute School Council is hosting an Inclusivity Workshop (2SLGBTQ+Focus) to be held virtually on Tuesday, May 17, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm for staff, parents and the community.  The workshop will look at diversity and inclusion at school by providing parents with practical tools and relevant knowledge using a friendly, down-to-earth approach.

The event is presented by “Get REAL”, a Canadian non-profit organization focused on combatting 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism and bullying in schools, summer camps and workplaces.

Parents will come away from this workshop with: increased knowledge of 2SLGBTQ+ identities, terminology; practical steps and creative ideas on how to support a child that comes out to you; a chance to work through realistic and customized scenarios; the chance for parents to honestly ask questions and get advice anonymously from two of the most experienced Get Real speakers.

Organizers  stress that everyone is welcome to participate in the virtual workshop. To pre-register so that you receive coordinates in advance by email to join the workshop, email: [email protected] or [email protected].
