One person has been charged with impaired driving and operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, after a head-on collision in Russell sent three people to hospital with serious injuries.

On Thursday, April 14, shortly after 9:30 p.m., Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a two vehicle head-on collision on Craig Street in Russell, where an Ontario driver was arrested.

The Russell Fire Department and the Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene. Two youths and an adult were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

An officer utilized an Approved Screening Device (ASD) on one of the drivers. Further investigation was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Robin Harrison, age 54, from Russell, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) with:

  • Operation causing bodily harm Section 320.14(2) and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) Section 320.14(1)(b)

The OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation that is still ongoing.
