The Annual Dalkeith Historical Society (DHS) Picnic and Paddle took place last Saturday (April 2), after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 public health restrictions.
On a perfect spring day, about 10 kayaks and canoes paddled down the Rigaud River de Graisse in North Glengarry, to be joined by a group of spectators at Robertson Mills in Dalkeith – eager to devour the always-abundant DHS picnic lunch. Rivermaster Bob Irwin once again guided the group safely along the three-hour voyage that battled the winds, the cold, five rapids and one weir.
