Pre-trial hearings have been extended in the case of a former Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) physician facing a first-degree murder charge.  

On March 25, 2021, Brian Nadler was arrested in connection with the death of HGH patient Albert Poidinger. On July 5, 2021, Nadler was released on $10,000 bail.  

At the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on February 23, 2022, a continuation was granted for pre-trial proceedings to resume on March 11 with a return to open court on March 16.   

A publication ban remains in effect on all other details of the case. Pre-trial hearings are also closed sessions where the public and journalists are not permitted to attend or report.
