For the tenth year in a row, local couple Gaétan and Jo Ann Champagne have presented the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation with a cheque for $100,000.

The total gift of $1 million over the last decade has supported both HGH’s redevelopment project, as well as the foundation’s successful campaign to bring a new CT scanner and first-ever MRI to the hospital.

“Mr. and Mrs. Champagne have truly helped transform our community hospital into the regional health care facility we have today. They set out 10 years ago with the goal of wanting to make a real difference in the health of those in our community and just one step inside the doors of our hospital is proof of what their remarkable generosity has helped accomplish.” says Erin Tabakman, Executive Director of the HGH Foundation. “We are so very grateful to them both for this incredible gift.”

The HGH Foundation & “There’s No Place Like Home” Campaign

The HGH Foundation’s mission is to raise funds in order to improve the care and services offered to the community by the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital.

The HGH Foundation’s current campaign, ‘There’s No Place Like Home’, is an initiative to help provide the highest priority medical equipment so that HGH can add and expand programs and services in key areas such as Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Advanced Mammography, Urology and Endoscopy.
