There are still opportunities to receive a COVID-19 vaccination for residents of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s (EOHU) territory.  

On Wednesday, October 13, a clinic is being held at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex from 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Up to 240 people may be served at this clinic. In Casselman, a clinic is taking place at 872 Principale Street from 9:45 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 14. At that clinic, up to 100 people may be served. Another clinic for up to 100 people is also taking place in Casselman on Friday, October 15 for the same hours as the October 14 clinic.  

In Rockland, a COVID-19 vaccination clinic is being held at the EOHU office, located at 2229 Laurier Street from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. for up to 70 people. 

No appointment is necessary for the clinics, which are operated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

COVID-19 vaccinations are also available locally at pharmacies in Alfred, Alexandria, Casselman, Embrun, Hawkesbury, Limoges, Moose Creek, Plantagenet, Russell, St-Isidore, and Vankleek Hill. 

Long-term care and schools 

As of October 12, four out of the five active COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities and hospitals across the EOHU’s territory were at facilities in Cornwall. The other outbreak is at Residence St-François in Casselman. 

In local schools, there was one case each of COVID-19 connected with École élémentaire publique Nouvel-Horizon in Hawkesbury, and École élémentaire publique Terre des Jeunes in North Glengarry as of October 12.  

Among schools part of the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, there was on active case of COVID-19 connected with École élémentaire catholique de Casselman-Pavillon St-Paul/Ste-Euphémie, two cases connected with École élémentaire catholique Paul VI in Hawkesbury, three cases connected with École élémentaire catholique Saint-Mathieu in Clarence-Rockland, and one case associated with École élémentaire catholique Saint-Victor in Alfred as of October 12. 

As of October 12, one case of COVID-19 was connected with Pleasant Corners Public School near Vankleek Hill.
