No tenders received for community centre heating system upgrade

The deadline set by East Hawkesbury township for tenders from contractors interested in completing the heating system replacement at the Centre d’Action community centre in Ste-Anne-de Prescott passed on September 13. However, no tenders were received by the township, even though eight contractors had requested documents during the tender period.

Grant money from the federal and provincial governments is being used for the project. Even though no tenders were received, the Ontario and federal governments will consider the competitive contracting requirement as having been met.

Council has authorized Lalonde to consult a contractor for the replacement of the heating equipment and insulation.
