Oh buoy! Visitors to Chenail Island in Hawkesbury in recent days may have noticed a Canadian Coast Guard vessel moored near the boat launch. CCGS Ile St-Ours is a buoy tender and its crew has been doing maintenance on buoys and other navigation signals on the Ottawa River. Ile St-Ours was using Hawkesbury as a temporary base while work was being done along the river. Its home port is Sorel-Tracy, on the St. Lawrence River east of Montréal.
