Do not go to Lachute emergency department…unless it’s really an emergency

The CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority is asking people with non-urgent health problems to avoid emergency departments at hospitals in Lachute, Saint-Eustache, Saint-Jérôme, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Rivière-Rouge and Mont-Laurier due to high patient volumes.

Individual with non-urgent health problems are requested to consider alternatives to going to an emergency department, including:

  • contact Info-Santé811 by telephone to speak to a nurse
  • consult your family doctor;
  • see a doctor in a walk-in clinic
  • consult your pharmacist
  • go to the emergency room, as a last resort.

The list of medical clinics offering walk-in consultations by place of residence is available in the resource directory: sante.gouv.qc.ca/repertoire-ressources .

Rendez-vous santé Québec also allows you to obtain an online appointment according to the time of the daytime. To learn more about front-line services, visit: quebec.ca/sante/systeme-et-health-services / organization-of-services / primary-line-health-and-social-services .

If you have symptoms similar to COVID-19, don’t hesitate to get tested at a designated clinic near you. To learn more, visit the COVID-19 section of santelaurentides.gouv.qc.ca .

A person whose situation requires urgent care should not hesitate to go to the emergency room in order to to receive the essential care they require.

The CISSS des Laurentides is actively working to improve the situation and would like to thank its teams for their work with users and the population for its collaboration.
