Brownsburg-Chatham asks province to raise speed awareness on Route 344

Speed remains a concern along Route 344/Route des Outaouais in Brownsburg-Chatham.

On August 3, town council requested the Ministère des Transports du Québec improve signage and signalization in the five kilometre section between Montée St-Philippe and Montée Cushing. The speed limit in the area is 70 kilometres per hour.

The town wants improved speed limit awareness in the area because the narrow section of highway is popular with cyclists and pedestrians because it passes by the municipal campground. Several residential properties are also located along the road.
