The village of Grenville has received $112,840 in funding from the Québec department of municipal affairs and housing. The money is from a fund for municipal building maintenance and upgrades.

Mayor Pierre Thauvette said there will be further discussions about how the village will use the funding.

New street name

Grenville’s newest street now has a name.

At the July 5 meeting, village council approved naming the new street in the subdivision being developed by Groupe Foucault rue de la Rive, which means shore street. The street is presently unpaved and begins at the intersection of rue Principale and rue Queen before ending at a cul-de-sac beside the bank of the Grenville Bay marsh on the Ottawa River.

Groupe Foucault built what is now rue de la Rive in 2020, in order to access more than 20 single-detached residential building lots which have been pre-serviced with connections to the municipal water and sewage systems.
