Chemin St-Michel is closed to traffic in Brownsburg-Chatham because the Ministère des transports du Québec (MTQ) is repairing the bridge on nearby chemin Lépine where it crosses Rivière de l’ouest. Chemin St-Michel is closed just east of Route 327 in Pine Hill.

Work is taking place from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During those hours, the bridge is completely closed to vehicular traffic. It will still be possible to cross the structure on foot, but MTQ staff on site must be notified in advance.

Outside of working hours, traffic will be alternated via a one-way lane with a width of two metres. SUV’s and light trucks will not be able to use the route. Drivers of compact cars will be able to use the bridge between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.

All of the work is to be completed by August 16. A 36-kilometre detour around the bridge work site using chemin de la Rivière Perdue and Route Main has been posted. For updates on the road closure and progress of the work, call Québec 511.
