A small fire was quickly put out at an apartment building in Lachute on Friday, July 2.
According to Lachute Fire Chief Alain St-Jacques, the cause of the fire at 49 rue Principale has not been determined. The fire started on the balcony of one of the apartments and only the family living in that apartment was affected. There were no injuries.
St-Jacques said the fire could have been much worse but the fast response by firefighters quickly contained the blaze
