On June 11, 2021 at 9:20 a.m. at the interprovincial check point, located at the Long Sault Bridge in Hawkesbury, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) intercepted a motor vehicle and in speaking to the driver, the officer detected a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle. Police investigation revealed that the two occupants, aged 30 and 56-years-old, were in possession of more than 600 grams of cannabis.

Both were released with a promise to appear to their next court date, which will be on July 14, 2021 at the l’Orignal Court of Justice.

Break and enter in Champlain

Between 9 p.m. on June 10 and 8 a.m. June 11, 2021, an unknown person(s) entered the private garage of a residence on Allen Road in Champlain Township. The freezer located within was broken into and five 80-pound bags of ground beef were stolen.

Between Friday, June 11, 2021 and Tuesday, June 22, 2021, officers from the Hawkesbury Detachment of the OPP responded to 460 calls for service.
