Argenteuil SQ arrest man for impaired driving, then break and enter

MRC d’Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers recently arrested the same suspect twice during the same night.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on June 19, police were notified of a vehicle driving erratically on Autoroute 50 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. Police located and intercepted the vehicle near the chemin Avoca exit. After routine checks, police arrested the driver, a 26-year-old man from Gatineau. He was taken to the hospital to provide a blood sample and then later released by summons. Drug-impaired driving charges are pending.

At approximately 4 a.m. on June 20, SQ officers received a call for a break and enter on rue Maple in Grenville. At the scene, police arrested the same man who had been arrested earlier for impaired driving. The suspect allegedly broke down the door to the business in order to recover his vehicle which had been towed earlier.

The suspect was taken to the SQ station and appeared in court in Saint-Jérôme on June 21 to face possible break and enter charges.
