A G1 driver heading to Montreal was charged by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with stunt driving, being on a 400 series highway without a qualified driver and several other offences, after being stopped on Highway 417 near Hawkesbury.

OPP East Region posted on its Twitter feed at 4:30 p.m. on May 26 about the incident, noting the driver was clocked going 162 kilometres per hour on the highway. The driver was charged with stunt driving and for being on a 400 series highway, not accompanied by a qualified driver. A passenger in the vehicle was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The result was a driver’s licence suspension, a towing, and a taxi ride home.
