On May 11, 2021, a Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer intercepted a motor vehicle following a traffic complaint on Highway 417, North Stormont Township.

Investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed the accused was driving under suspension.

A 31-year-old man from St. Isidore, Ontario, was arrested and charged with;

– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs – Criminal Code (CC) – sec.320.14(1)(a)

– Operation while impaired – over 80 sec.320.14(1)(b)

– Driving while under suspension – HTA -Sec. 53(1)

– Use plates not authorized for vehicle – HTA- Sec.12(1)(d)

– Operate unsafe vehicle – HTA – Sec. 84

– Operate a motor vehicle without insurance – CAIA – Sec. 2(1)(a)

– Having care or control motor vehicle with open container of liquor – Liquor Licence Act 32(1)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on the June 24, 2021.
