The Board of Centre Novas-CALACS francophone de Prescott-Russell has announced the appointment of Martine Lanthier as Executive Director.

The board’s new executive director has played various roles at Centre Novas, from being a board member and its president, to being a staff member. Since 2012, she has been actively involved in the area of violence against women (VAW) and especially sexual assaults.

Lanthier has a Master’s degree in Social Work and has completed many specialized courses in the field of VAW. She was a member of a research collaborative at the University of Ottawa and collaborated on feminist research.

In 2017, Lanthier began work at Centre Novas, where she has held various positions over the past four years. She is currently a counsellor to victims and survivors of sexual assaults.

Lanthier will gradually transition into the role and will be full-time director as of May 25, 2021.

Le Centre Novas-CALACS francophone de Prescott-Russell and le Centre de services juridiques pour les femmes francophones de l’Ontario (CSJFFO) offer specialized services to women who experience violence or have family law problems.
