There were 13 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, April 30.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24 as of Friday.
Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 418 active cases of COVID-19 as of April 30.
Beginning April 30, Québec was phasing in the process of making COVID-19 vaccination appointments available to all adults age 18 and greater over the next two weeks.
The Québec department of health and social services reported that 213,860 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Friday.
Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.
For all other vaccinations, residents of the Laurentides region of Québec aged 50 (born in 1971 or before) and greater are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.
Cases in schools and long-term care facilities
According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 30 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:
École Dansereau – St-Martin in Grenville
École St-Alexandre in Lachute
Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute
As of Friday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.
According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 9,673 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Friday, April 30, and there were 1,041 new cases across Québec on Friday.
There were 592 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 164 of those patients were in intensive care.
There had been 10,926 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 30, which was an increase of 13 deaths from April 29.
Across Québec, 3,104,026 vaccine doses had been administered as of Friday.
Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.
The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic until May 20.
