As of Friday, April 23, there were 27 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 24 as of Friday.
Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 522 active cases of COVID-19 as of April 23.
The Québec department of health and social services reported that 174,458 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Friday.
Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 45 to 79 at clinics without appointment across the Laurentides region.
For all other vaccinations, residents of the Laurentides region of Québec aged 60 (born in 1961 or before) and greater are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.
Cases in schools and long-term care facilities
According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 23 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École St-Alexandre in Lachute
École St-Julien in Lachute
École St-Philippe in Brownsburg-Chatham
École Bouchard in Brownsburg
Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute
Laurentian Elementary School in Lachute
Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute
As of Friday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.
According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 11,526 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Friday, April 23, which was 1,043 more cases than on Thursday, April 22.
There were 684 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 172 of those patients were in intensive care.
There had been 10,860 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 23, which was an increase of 15 deaths from April 22.
Across Québec, 2,679,907 vaccine doses had been administered as of Friday.
Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.
The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect. Entry into Québec from Ontario is also restricted in response to Ontario closing its border to non-essential traffic.
