Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on April 20, police officers from the Sûreté du Québec, MRC d’Argenteuil MRC station intercepted a vehicle for a Highway Safety Code check on rue Maple in Grenville. The driver of the vehicle was arrested because they were prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code.

A 19-year-old from Grenville was later released and will appear in court in Saint-Jérôme at a later date.  The suspect could face charges for driving while prohibited and breach of condition.

The suspect’s vehicle was seized for 30 days, and they were issued fines totaling $2,065 for driving a vehicle without liability insurance and failure to comply with the curfew.

Also, the three passengers in the vehicle received fines of $1,550 for breaking the curfew.
