A total of 110 donors participated in a blood donor clinic held in Lachute on April 6 at Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.  The clinic was presented by the MRC d’Argenteuil and the Sûreté du Québec.

“We are proud that the citizens of Argenteuil have taken part in this outpouring of solidarity and I take this opportunity to thank the many donors and the staff of Héma-Québec,” said MRC d’Argenteuil Prefect Scott Pearce.

Due to the pandemic, blood donors are required to make an appointment with Héma-Québec, the province’s blood agency, beforehand.

Every 80 seconds, someone in Québec needs blood. The blood reserve belongs to everyone, no matter where the blood is collected. It is processed and tested, then delivered to where it is needed to help save lives. Each day, Héma-Québec must collect at least 1,000 blood donations in order to meet all of the requests from Quebec hospitals.
