As of Tuesday, April 13, there were 56 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil was 23 as of Tuesday.

Across the Laurentides region of Québec, there was a total of 504 active cases of COVID-19 as of April 13.

Vaccination information

The Québec department of health and social services reported that 123,136 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the Laurentides territory as of Tuesday.

Astra-Zeneca COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to adults ages 55 to 79 at clinics without appointments across the Laurentides region.  A clinic was held in Lachute on April 13 at the Aréna Kevin Lowe/Pierre Pagé on Avenue Hamford from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  A second appointment-free, Astra-Zeneca clinic will be held at the same location April 14 from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.

For all other vaccinations, residents of the Laurentides region of Québec aged 60 (born in 1961 or before) and older are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.  Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 13 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École St-Alexandre in Lachute

École St-Julien in Lachute

École St-Philippe in Brownsburg-Chatham

École Bouchard in Brownsburg

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

Laurentian Elementary School in Lachute

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute

As of Tuesday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 13,253 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, April 13, which was 1,490 more cases than on Monday, April 12.

There were 643 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Tuesday, and 150 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,756 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 13, which was an increase of 12 deaths from April 12.

Across Québec, 2,005,106 vaccine doses had been administered as of Tuesday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
