The Champlain Library is encouraging patrons to spring into reading and activities during this week’s Spring Break. Although the library is closed to the public, staff have prepared virtual programs and activity kits to engage kids of all ages.
A virtual coding club takes place for kids from nine to 13 years of age via Zoom on Monday, April 12, and the Adult Take and Make Craft kits become available for pick up this week. Don’t miss Storytime with Alicia live on Facebook at 10 am on Tuesday, April 13, where she will be reading books on gardening in English and French. Spring break activity packs for kids which include a game or puzzle, a movie, books and activity sheets are available on Wednesday, April 14, and kids 5 years and up can pick up a Let’s Talk Science kit on Thursday, April 15.
Ever wonder what a part face, part book would look like? Submit a Book Face photo to the library by Thursday, April 15 for a chance to win a prize. Check out the library’s Facebook or Instagram page for ideas. After a full week of reading and activities, reserve a movie or TV series to enjoy over the weekend.
Don’t forget to check out the library’s website to sign up for activities and its online catalogue to reserve books, magazines and DVD’s during this Spring Break. Curbside pickup is available Monday to Friday from 1 p. to 5 p.m. For more information visit bc-cl.ca or call 613-678-2216.
