There were 29 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, March 12, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Friday.

There was a total of 419 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec as of March 12.

The CISSS des Laurentides reported that 34,298 residents of the region had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, the only active cases of COVID-19 at a school in the MRC d’Argenteuil as of March 12 was at Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.

As of Tuesday, one individual at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute had tested positive for COVID-19.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 7,128 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Friday, March 12, which was an increase of 753 cases from March 11.

There were 550 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Friday, and 106 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,526 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of March 12, which was an increase of eight deaths from March 11.

Across Québec, 648,663 people had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Friday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
