There were 18 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Tuesday, March 9, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.  The number of active cases was unchanged from March 8.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Tuesday.

There was a total of 405 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec as of March 8.

The CISSS des Laurentides reported that 29,623 residents of the region had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, the only active case of COVID-19 at a school in the MRC d’Argenteuil as of March 9 was at Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute.

As of Tuesday, one individual at the CHSLD Argenteuil in Lachute had tested positive for COVID-19.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 6,765 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, March 9, which was an increase of 650 cases from March 8.

There were 576 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Tuesday, and 110 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,493 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of March 9, which was an increase of 12 deaths from March 8.

Across Québec, 581,028 people had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
