Lachute arena will be Argenteuil COVID-19 vaccination site

The MRC d´Argenteuil and the Ville de Lachute have made the Kevin-Lowe — Pierre-Pagé Arena on Avenue Hamford available to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority for the mass vaccination campaign against COVID-19.  The further deployment of the campaign is expected shortly.

A committee of public health and municipal stakeholders determined that the arena is the only location that meets the CISSS des Laurentides’ specifications for a suitable vaccination site.

The MRC d’Argenteuil council and Ville de Lachute council unanimously agreed to cease all other activities at the arena and remove the ice rink so that the space is available for vaccinations.

In the Laurentides, the vaccination campaign began on December 22, 2020 with groups priorities identified by the Québec immunization committee. Vaccination of the broader population has not yet started. The public will be informed gradually of the arrangements for making a vaccination appointment based on the arrival of vaccine doses and by prioritization established by the Québec Ministry of Health and Social Services.

The opening of vaccination sites in the Laurentides is occurring gradually beginning this week until March 15, depending on the arrival of vaccine doses.

The vaccination process will be by invitation only and will be done by appointment.

The CISSS des Laurentides will publish the related information on the Facebook page and the website Internet of the CISSS at www.santelaurentides.gouv.qc.ca.
