Active COVID-19 cases among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil have declined significantly since the beginning of the week of February 21.

According to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority, there were just 11 active cases of COVID-19 across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Tuesday, February 23.  There had been 16 active cases across Argenteuil on February 22 and 22 active cases on February 19.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Tuesday.

On Tuesday, there were a total of 469 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec.

The CISSS des Laurentides reported that 17,540 residents of the region had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of February 23.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

The Québec government reported active cases of COVID-19 at the following schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of February 22:

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of February 22, no active cases of COVID-19 were present at long-term care facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 7,880 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as Tuesday, February 23.  The number of active cases had increased by 739 from February 22 to February 23.

There were 680 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of February 23, and 120 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,330 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of February 23, which was an increase of 12 deaths from February 22.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
