As of Wednesday, January 27, there were 71 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.  On Tuesday, January 26, there had been 66 active cases across Argenteuil.  Across the entire Laurentides region of Québec, there were 836 active cases of COVID-19 as of January 27. 

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Argenteuil remained at 15 on Wednesday. 

The Québec government reported active cases of COVID-19 at the following schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of January 26: 

Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge 

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute 

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute 

École Bouchard in Brownsburg 

As of January 25, COVID-19 cases were present at the Résidence de Lachute, Résidence Médaillion d’or Lachute, and at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute. 

Québec statistics 

The curfew across Québec intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 continues from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly until February 8.  All citizens are to remain at home during that time, unless for specific medical, employment, or emergency reasons. 

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 15,479 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, January 26.  The number of active cases had increased by 1,328 from January 25 to January 26. There were 1,290 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of January 26, and 221 of those patients were in intensive care. There had been 9,639 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of January 26, which was an increase of 53 deaths from January 25.
