As of Wednesday, January 27, the number of active cases of COVID-19 under Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) jurisdiction had decreased to 458 from 472 on January 26.
There were 21 COVID-19 patients from the EOHU’s territory in hospital as of January 27 and five of those patients were in intensive care.
The number of deaths resulting from COVID-19 across the area served by the EOHU remained at 52 on Wednesday.

As of January 27, there were 1,670 new, active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario from January 26. According to calculations based on statistics from the Ministry of Health, there were 21,932 active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario as of Wednesday.
There were 1,382 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Ontario as of January 27. Out of those patients, 377 were in intensive care, and 291 patients were on ventilators.
There had been 5,958 deaths due to COVID-19 across Ontario as of January 27.
