Fire at site of demolished building in Lachute

Firefighters in Lachute were busy on Saturday evening at a property in the downtown area.

According to Fire Chief Alain St-Jacques, the call arrived at 8:40 p.m. Saturday for a fire at the site of a demolished building next to Restaurant Carole on rue Principale.

The 25 Lachute firefighters who responded received assistance from 20 firefighters from St-André d’Argenteuil, Brownsburg-Chatham, and Gore.

St-Jacques said that the cause of the fire is unknown.  There were no injuries and none of the adjacent buildings were affected by the fire.
