Vankleek Hill resident wins more than $200,000 in Lotto 6/49

Daniel Larente of Vankleek Hill has that “6/49 feeling” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $218,014.40 in the October 31, 2020 draw. Daniel matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win the prize. 

Daniel, 61, said he’s been playing LOTTO 6/49 for years. “I choose random numbers I like,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I used the OLG Lottery App to check my ticket I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! It was the best Halloween I’ve had!”

The married, father of three said he shared the news with his wife right away. “We were both in complete shock.”

Daniel said he plans to spoil his kids, pay some bills and save for retirement.

“It’s the nicest surprise you can get,” he smiled. 

LOTTO 6/49 players in Ontario have won over $13 billion in prizes since 1982, including 1,396jackpot wins and 353 Guaranteed $1 Million Prize draws. LOTTO 6/49is $3 per play and draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Depanneur Lalande on Main Street in Vankleek Hill.
