Caitlin Allen wins 2020 Scholarship Award from Eastern Area Women’s Institute

The Prescott District Women’s Institute is proud to announce that Caitlin Allen is the winner of the 2020 Scholarship Award from Eastern Area Women’s Institute. Each year the Women’s Institute offers a $500 Scholarship to deserving students. The applicant must have completed at least one year of post-secondary study. Caitlin is in her second year of study at MacDonald College. Applicants must be able to demonstrate volunteer accomplishments, and an interest in community involvement. Caitlin is the granddaughter of Shirley Allen, long-time member of the Cassburn Women’s Institute Branch. The Women’s Institute has for many years been an organization involved in lobbying municipalities and provincial and federal governments for changes that will benefit families and citizens. They are proud to make presentations at the local level to 4-H members. Scholarships to two students are presented at the District Annual Meeting held each year in May, and to two students at the Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute graduation ceremonies held in June. The Women’s Institute members congratulate Caitlin Allen for a job well done.
