On the afternoon of Tuesday, November 10, The Review shared on Facebook that firefighters from L’Orignal, Lefaivre, and Vankleek Hill, along with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were present beside a water treatment facility by the Ottawa River on Bay Road near L’Orignal. At approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening, the OPP confirmed that an 86-year-old man was found deceased in a submerged minivan in the river at the scene. Hawkesbury OPP officers are investigating to determine how and when the vehicle ended up in the water.
