The CISSS des Laurentides will now notify people who have tested negative for COVID-19 by text message.
The feature will be gradually rolled out across the region and will reduce the amount of time people have to wait for test results.
“Testing for COVID-19 is an important service in controlling the transmission of the virus. More than 1,000 samples are carried out every day in the Laurentides and these are as many people that we must contact every day to send them the results of their test so that they are able to comply with the necessary instructions,” said CISSS des Laurentides President and CEO Rosemonde Landry.
Notification by text messaging will only be used for negative results. The public health department will continue to contact people by phone if they have tested positive in order to ensure personalized follow-up and investigation.
