A private high school in Pointe-au-chêne, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge is responding to a case of COVID-19 among one of its staff members.

According to the Facebook page of Seminaire du sacré-coeur, a staff member at the private, Roman Catholic high school was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 29.

Québec public health authorities have determined that the risk of infection to other staff and students at the school is low.

However, some staff members were still told to go and get tested and classes were suspended at the school for Wednesday and Thursday.

The situation will be reassessed by school administration on Thursday before a decision is made if Friday’s classes will be held remotely or in person.

The school has increased disinfection measures and is monitoring the situation very closely and will provide updates online.

The case of COVID-19 at Seminaire du sacré-coeur is listed on the daily update of COVID-19 cases in all schools across Québec.
