There were 124 cumulative cases of COVID-19 across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, September 4, which was an increase from 123 cases on Tuesday, September 1, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.  As of September 4, there were nine active cases across Argenteuil. Each of the nine MRC d’Argenteuil municipalities had less than five active cases of COVID-19 on September 4.

There were no COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care or other group living facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil as of September 4, and the number of COVID-19 deaths in the MRC d’Argenteuil remained at nine.

As of September 4, there were no cases of COVID-19 among patients or employees at the hospitals in St-Jérôme and St-Eustache, which are the two COVID-19 receiving hospitals for the Laurentides region.

Québec COVID-19 statistics

The cumulative total of confirmed COVID-19 cases as of September 4 across Québec as was 63,117, which was an increase from 62,614 on September 1.  On September 3, the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) reported that 55,724 cases across Québec were resolved.  That means approximately 88.2 per cent of the 63,117 cases were resolved and that there were approximately 7,393 active cases across Québec on September 4.

On Friday, Health Minister Christian Dubé pleaded with Quebecers to follow the rules in order to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 during the Labour Day weekend, especially since Québec has seen case numbers increase by more than 100 for two consecutive days.

There were 102 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec on September 4 and 18 of those patients were in intensive care.

Across Québec as of September 4, there had been 5,767 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19, which was five more deaths than on September 1.

School list

School has already resumed in most communities across Québec.  On Friday, September 4, the government of Québec published a first list of reported cases of COVID-19 in schools that was current as of September 3.  No schools in the MRC d’Argenteuil were affected by COVID-19 outbreaks as of Thursday.

Beginning in the week ahead, the health ministry and education ministry will be updating the list of affected schools each day.

As of Friday, September 4, out of the more than 3,100 establishments in the Quebec school network, 47 establishments have declared at least one case of a student or staff member attributable to COVID-19.

When a case is reported in a school, all parents with children attending that school will systematically receive notification and an opinion on the situation from their school administration.
