For several weeks, the government of Québec has highly recommend wearing masks in public places. Considering the recovery of gradual activities in health care facilities and the intensification of measures to prevent an increase in community transmission of COVID-19, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority now asks all visitors who must go to an installation (including the Lachute hospital), or who receive home care services to wear a face covering (craft mask or fabric covering the nose and mouth).

It has been shown that some people can be asymptomatic but carriers of the virus. Thus, wearing a face cover is an additional means of protection.

In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, users with symptoms of COVID-19 will receive, as soon as they arrive in a of the services of the CISSS des Laurentides, a procedural mask that they must wear at all times.

Only children under two years of age, people with breathing difficulties, and those who are unable to remove their face cover without assistance will be exempt from wearing masks at CISSS des Laurentides facilities.

Also, the CISSS des Laurentides would like to point out that in the event that a user refuses to wear a mask, their appointment could be postponed if it is a non-urgent matter.

Wearing a mask does not replace protective measures, such as hand washing and physical distancing. These measures must continue to be applied rigorously at all facilities.
