Autoroute 50 is closed in both directions at kilometre 263 in Lachute on Friday afternoon. That is located between Route 329/avenue Bethany and Route 148 in Mirabel.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on June 19, a collision occurred involving a heavy truck and two cars. Both cars caught fire after the impact. The death of a person was noted at the scene. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reported that the other lives involved are not endangered.
Emergency response is still underway. The SQ and Mirabel police are regulating traffic due to the closure of Autoroute 50.
Personnel from the Ministère des transports du Québec were at the scene and Environnement Québec was notified due to a diesel spill resulting from the collision.
