Champlain Library’s TD Summer Reading Club kick-off will take place on Saturday, June 20th between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. outside in front of the library. It will run differently this year as the library will not be able to host any programs in the library. This Saturday, families can sign-up for our Summer Reading Club 2020, receive the July and August activity calendars, obtain a free pennant to draw your favourite book cover on, and receive all the information you need to enjoy a summer of reading and creativity.

The  TD Summer Reading Club has gone virtual this year with extra incentives, programs and prizes to keep kids engaged. On the web portal children can: create an online notebook, read ebooks, vote in the Battle of the Books, participate in weekly trivia, read and write jokes, read a web comic by Kean Soo, view author/illustrator workshops, print colouring sheets, and find the perfect book!

The library will also include activities to partake in from home: science experiments, weekly challenges, scavenger hunts, and online story times with barnyard buddies! We will also be offering Grab ‘n Go kits, with cool DIY crafts like colour your own boomerangs, surfboards, and beading. Kids will be able to register for these activities and pick up all necessary materials free of charge from the library.

If you cannot make it to the kick-off, you are able to sign up through the website: This is an excellent, free and bilingual program for kids between and  13 years of age. Library staff hopes you will join in for a summer full of reading, inspiration, learning and adventure!
