As of Sunday, May 31, there had been 51,059 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Québec. That was a 0.8 per cent increase from 50,651 confirmed cases on Saturday, May 30.
However, on May 29, the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) reported that 16,346 cases of COVID-19 in Québec were resolved, which means that 32 per cent of the cases were resolved and that 34,713 cases remained active.
Across Québec, there had been 4,641 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 as of May 31. That was a 4.4 per cent increase from 4,439 COVID-19 deaths on May 30.
As of May 30, 1,198 COVID-19 patients in Québec were in hospital and 171 of those patients were in intensive care.
Argenteuil and Laurentides
The CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority does not give local COVID-19 updates on weekends. However, there were 59 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Friday, May 29.
The total number of deaths in Argenteuil due to COVID-19 as of May 29 remained at five.
The Laurentides region includes seven other MRC’s, and the municipality of Mirabel. Throughout the Laurentides on May 29, there were 2,827 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which was an increase from 2,805 confirmed cases on May 28. However, the CISSS des Laurentides was listing 1,624 cases as resolved, which means that 57.4 per cent of the 2,827 Laurentides cases are now resolved and there are 1,203 active cases.
There were 195 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the Laurentides region on Friday, and 31 of those patients were in intensive care. As of May 29, there had been 130 COVID-19 deaths in the Laurentides region.
According to the CISSS des Laurentides, COVID-19 is, or has been present in all nine municipalities within the MRC d’Argenteuil. There are less than five cases in each municipality except for Lachute, which has had 30 cases. Brownsburg-Chatham has had eight cases, and there have been eight cases in St-André-d’Argenteuil.
No outbreaks of COVID-19 at long-term care facilities or other institutional living facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil were listed by the CISSS des Laurentides as of May 29.
