On Friday, May 8, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among residents in the MRC d’Argenteuil reached 30, which was an increase from 25 confirmed cases on May 7, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.
There were 1,706 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on May 8 throughout the larger Laurentides region, which includes the MRC d’Argenteuil, seven other MRC’s, and the city of Mirabel.
There were 124 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the Laurentides region on Friday, and 22 of those patients were in intensive care. The region had 61 COVID-19 deaths as of May 8, which was an increase from 58 deaths on May 7.
According to the CISSS des Laurentides, one resident and four employees at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute have tested positive for COVID-19.
The CISSS des Laurentides is periodically publishing a list of the number of case amounts and ranges of approximate cases in each municipality in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Outaouais
The MRC de Papineau borders the MRC d’Argenteuil to the west and includes Montebello, Fassett, St-André-Avellin, and Papineauville. As of May 8, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Papineau remained at 36 for the third day.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais regional health authority has listed case numbers and the range of case numbers for local municipalities in the MRC de Papineau that have confirmed cases.

As of Friday, there had been six deaths due to COVID 19 in the larger Outaouais region that includes the MRC de Papineau.
On May 8, there were 149 active cases of COVID-19 in the Outaouais region, and 177 resolved cases.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Québec residents reached 36,150 on May 8, which was an increase from 35,238 on May 7. As of May 8, 1,827 COVID-19 patients were in hospital and 207 of those patients were in intensive care. Across Québec 2,725 people had died from COVID-19 as of May 8, which was an increase from 2,631 deaths on May 7.
