On Thursday, May 7, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among residents in the MRC d’Argenteuil reached 25, which was an increase from 22 confirmed cases on May 6, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.
There were 1,660 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on May 7 throughout the larger Laurentides region, which includes the MRC d’Argenteuil, seven other MRC’s, and the city of Mirabel.
There were 120 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the Laurentides region on Thursday, and 22 of those patients were in intensive care. The region had 58 COVID-19 deaths as of May 7, which was an increase from 53 deaths on May 6.
According to the CISSS des Laurentides, one resident and four employees at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute have tested positive for COVID-19.
The CISSS des Laurentides is periodically publishing a list of the number of cases in each municipality in the MRC d’Argenteuil, but it only includes a range of the probable and confirmed cases in each of those municipalities.

Outaouais
The MRC de Papineau borders the MRC d’Argenteuil to the west and includes Montebello, Fassett, St-André-Avellin, and Papineauville. As of May 7, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Papineau remained at 36 for the second day.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais regional health authority has listed case numbers and the range of case numbers for local municipalities in the MRC de Papineau that have confirmed cases.

As of Thursday, there had been five deaths due to COVID 19 in the larger Outaouais region that includes the MRC de Papineau.
On May 7, there were 145 active cases of COVID-19 in the Outaouais region, and 177 resolved cases.
Provincial COVID-19 statistics
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Québec residents reached 35,238 on May 7, which was an increase from 34,327 on May 6. As of May 7, 1,836 COVID-19 patients were in hospital and 224 of those patients were in intensive care. Across Québec 2,631 people had died from COVID-19 as of May 7 , which was an increase from 2,510 deaths on May 6.
