Argenteuil COVID-19 cases remain level for fifth day, but Québec total increases

UPDATED AT 5:38 p.m. on 04/10/2020

As of Friday, April 9, there were 11,677 cases across Québec, with 5,617 of them in Montréal.

In the Laurentides region, which includes the MRC d’Argenteuil, there were 545 confirmed cases, but the number in  Argenteuil remained at eight.

There are 547 people in hospital and an additional 186 patients in intensive care due to COVID-19 across Québec.  There have been 241 deaths from COVID-19 across the province.

The MRC de Papineau, which includes Montebello, Papineauville, and St-André-Avellin, had 12 cases as of Friday.

According to the Québec health ministry, one of the reasons the official case numbers are high in Québec is due to simplifications in testing that allowed for more results to become available more quickly.

Preparations have been made to allow hospitals in St-Jérôme and St-Eustache to receive and treat COVID-19 patients.

There are presently two COVID-19 testing and assessment facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

The Lachute facility is located at the hospital, and the other facility is in Mille-Isles.  Both are by appointment only and can be reached at 1 877 644-4545.
