“Music therapy” Facebook group to help people during challenging times

Music therapy. Music is one way to change your thoughts and lift your spirits. But for musicians, it is a way for them to feel like they are offering support to others.

A new Facebook group called Covid-19 Music Therapy has been created and in just under a week, there are almost 1,000 followers. You will a variety of musical performances posted there.

Mike Young of Hawkesbury is one of the group’s founders. He plays guitar and used to teach beginners. Young says there have been many positive comments on the group’s page, which includes performances by young and old, pro and amateur performers, so far.

Young is the general manager of a Hawkesbury restaurant and mentions that at this point, he is still employed.
