On Monday evening March 2, 2020 just before 9:30 p.m., Hawkesbury OPP Constable Taddeo was conducting general patrol in the Town of Hawkesbury when he intercepted a vehicle on Tessier Street.

As a result, a 45-year-old driver of Les Coteaux Quebec, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following sections:

– Driving while under suspension

– Driving under licence of other jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario

– Improper number plate light

The vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was issued part three summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in L’Orignal on April 2, 2020.

Theft of vehicle

On Friday morning March 6, 2020 just after 10:00 a.m., the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle, stolen overnight from a farm property on County Road 16 in the Nation Municipality.

Later that day, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the grey 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was recovered on Besner Road in the Nation Municipality, after Nation Fire Department and Hawkesbury OPP officers responded to an abandoned motor vehicle on fire.

Police seek assistance to identify persons of interest

The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a shoplifting that occurred at a store in the Town of Hawkesbury.

During the investigation, the image of a person that police believe has information in the matter, was captured on video surveillance.
