Tree identification in the winter: deadline to register for February 22 workshop is February 18

A tree identification seminar will take place on Saturday, February 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 819 rue Cartier, in Curran, Ontario.

The workshop will be presented by former Boisé Est president Pierre Soucy, bringing his experience with trees to share with everyone.

Do you really know your trees and shrubs? In this workshop, Soucy will help participants tell trees apart — when they have no leaves. The photo below shows a white pine, but can you tell the difference between this evergreen tree and other evergreen varieties? You will have the chance to test your skills with samples.

The workshop is open to members or non-members and children are welcome to attend.

Please reserve with Jean-Claude Havard (613-673-3089 or [email protected]). The deadline to register is February 18, 2020. Registration fees (includes meal, payable upon arrival) is $35 per person for non-members and $15 per person for Boisé Est members. Students pay $15.
