There was a fatal fire in Alfred and Plantagenet on Saturday evening, November 23.
Firefighters responded to a home on County Road 9 near Highway 17 and retrieved the body of a man who was inside the dwelling.
Alfred and Plantagenet Fire Chief Dominic Coté said firefighters extinguished the fire and paramedics attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead.
No further details on the cause of the fire or identity of the deceased are available.
